LiveWhale

Support for persistent storage volumes

Explanation of persistent storage volume support.

Yes. LiveWhale supports persistent storage services which mount a remote storage volume hosted by a third party.

While there is no special configuration related to this; it is a trivial step to set it up. The CMS stores all file uploads at one specific location (/livewhale/content from the web root). This directory can be configured in the file system as a symlink to a directory on the mounted storage volume, and LiveWhale will then make use of persistent storage.

Make sure that the directory in question has its permissions set to allow read/write access by the web server.
