About LiveURL

About LiveURL and url formatting in LiveWhale.

LiveWhale produces clean, Wordpress style urls throughout your site wherever possible (just like the url for this support document). Our custom REST approach to url formatting, LiveURL, has a simple API and is modular like the rest of the CMS. Each LiveURL “module” represents a subdirectory off the root /live directory (/live/news, /live/rss, etc.) Developers have the ability to add additional modules in their developer directory.

In most cases, widgets will automatically produce these style urls and insert them into your page. You may use these urls as permalinks as you like; they do not change. Even if the title or headline contained in the url changes, an old url you may have passed around will continue to work properly due to its numeric prefix.
