Digital Forays: Archives and Activation / Platforms & Publics

More materials (photographic, ephemera, and otherwise) are becoming available via platforms of regional archives and personal projects? Yet, how do they become framed, activated, and enlivened on a website or platform? Many smaller projects abound (Middle East Archive / Middle East Archive / Arab Film Archive / Arabic Book Cover Archive / Pure Nostalgia) that dump new and often unseen material into the larger public domain - but how do we take this further? What logics become guiding principles of how you create a portal to house and serve as doors into larger collections? In essence, how do you create inroads and digital infrastructures to connect with various communities and build new publics? This week three projects present various levels of institutional backing and practitioners speaking about their projects, but through the digital platforms they are creating.
