Bulletins

Bulletins are a simple means to communicate with your community of content editors.

Bulletins are notifications sent by an administrator to LiveWhale users. You may send a bulletin to any number of groups, or all groups. Bulletins can be used to alert your content editors about scheduled system upgrades, training sessions, content strategy suggestions, or other announcements that are generally relevant to your LiveWhale community.

LiveWhale CMS: When you post a bulletin, it will be seen by other LiveWhale users on their welcome screen. If the user has a valid e-mail address, they will receive a copy of the bulletin via e-mail as well.

LiveWhale Calendar: Most users don’t see the dashboard/welcome screen when they login, instead going straight to Your Events. Therefore, they might not see your bulletins as easily (though they should receive them via email). To post a messsage to your back-end that you want all users to see, consider adding it via some custom JS to each back-end page, for instance.

Add/Edit a Bulletin

  1. Click “Bulletins” from the Toolbox
  2. Click the “Add a New Bulletin” button to add a new bulletin or click on an existing bulletin item to edit
  3. Enter the required fields: Title, Bulletin body, Bulletin date
  4. You may select the “Groups to notify”
  5. “Save this bulletin” when you are done, or click “Save and send e-mail” when you are ready to publish.

Note: Bulletins that are saved but not sent via e-mail will not show up on the welcome screen. Only a bulletin that has been sent via e-mail will be included on the welcome screen.
